Indiana requires everyone who sells or serves alcohol to complete an approved training program within 120 days of starting work, with a refresher every three years. This Learn2Serve course covers that training online for liquor stores, grocery stores, and convenience stores, from an approved provider of the Indiana Alcohol & Tobacco Commission.

Format and exam

The course is fully online and self-paced, and takes about three hours. Work through seven short lessons, then pass the final exam with a score of 75 percent or better. You can print your certificate of completion as soon as you pass. Course access runs for 60 days from purchase.

Who needs seller training in Indiana?

Every cashier, clerk, and manager who sells alcohol must complete approved training within 120 days of hire and repeat it every three years. Employees aged 18 to 20 must finish it before applying for a restricted employee permit. Train new hires in their first weeks so no one runs past the deadline.
