Yes, Missouri requires cannabis employee training. Under 19 CSR 100-1.080, every licensed Missouri cannabis facility has to train its employees, contractors, and volunteers no later than one week after they start work, and again when they take on new or changed procedures. Licensees keep those training records for at least five years and show them to the Division of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) on request.
What 19 CSR 100-1.080 requires
Training has to fit the worker's role and cover at least:
Security measures that prevent theft, loss, and diversion
The state's track-and-trace system
Emergency response procedures
Safety and sanitation
The DCR rules that apply to the worker's job
Staff who serve customers at a dispensary also need to know how to check age and purchase limits, and how strains and use methods differ in effect and onset.
Missouri doesn't set a minimum number of hours, and DCR doesn't approve courses. This course covers the shared topics: law, security, emergency response, ID and age checks, purchase limits, and onset. Each facility still trains staff on its own procedures, hands-on Metrc and POS use, sanitation, and its product menu.
