Nevada requires every cannabis establishment to make sure its agents are trained before they begin work. Under NAC 678B.208, a cannabis establishment must make sure training is given to each cannabis establishment agent before that person begins work, on three topics for every agent and twelve more for agents at a cannabis sales facility, delivery drivers included. That duty belongs to the employer. Nevada approves no cannabis training course and sets no training hours for store staff. This course supports that training duty and gives the store a dated record.
What Nevada requires
Nevada puts the training duty on the employer. The law and the rules call for:
Training for every cannabis establishment agent, before that person begins work, on three topics: the establishment's own security measures and controls, its emergency procedures, and state and federal cannabis law (NAC 678B.208)
For agents at a cannabis sales facility, delivery drivers included, twelve more topics, among them product knowledge, the warnings handed to customers, checking ID and refusing entry or a sale, the laws on public consumption, keeping cannabis away from people under 21, and handling disturbances (NAC 678B.208)
Operating documents that include the establishment's procedures for training its agents (NRS 678B.510)
Documentation the rules require, kept for at least 5 years and shown to the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) on request (NAC 678B.259)
Nevada law lists regular, documented training, given before an investigation starts, among the circumstances that may mitigate a violation (NRS 678A.647).
The four hours and the 1-year certificate are Learn Brands' own standards. This course covers the shared topics. The rule's list also includes the store's own security measures and emergency procedures and, for sales facility agents, product knowledge: strains, methods of use, and how cannabis affects the body. Each store still trains its staff on those, on its point-of-sale system, and on the state's seed-to-sale tracking system. This is not the training for staff who perform security functions (NAC 678B.220) or for consumption lounge employees (NAC 678D.310). The certificate is not the cannabis establishment agent registration card, which comes from the CCB.

Nevada Cannabis Workforce Training is fully online and self-paced, and takes about four hours.

A downloadable study guide to review before the final exam
Format, exam, and credential
Each module ends with flip cards, practice questions, and a real-world scenario from the shop floor, and the course closes with a final exam. Learners who finish receive a dated certificate of completion, valid for 1 year, for the store's training file.
Built for operators running a whole team
A store keeps the documentation the rules require for at least 5 years and shows it to the CCB on request (NAC 678B.259). The CCB's audit checklist asks stores for employee training records. The Learn Brands LMS stores every certificate, shows who has finished and who is outstanding, and sends renewal reminders before certificates expire.
Nevada cannabis training FAQ
Does Nevada require cannabis employee training?
Yes, and the duty belongs to the employer. Under NAC 678B.208, a cannabis establishment must make sure training is given to each cannabis establishment agent before that person begins work. The rule lists three topics for every agent and twelve more for agents at a cannabis sales facility, delivery drivers included. Nevada approves no cannabis training course and sets no training hours for store staff. This course supports that training duty and gives the store a dated record.
Is this course approved by the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board?
No. This course is not approved or endorsed by the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) or any state agency. Nevada approves no cannabis training course and sets no training hours for store staff. The course is built on Nevada Revised Statutes chapters 678A to 678D and the Cannabis Compliance Board's regulations in the Nevada Administrative Code, and it supports the training duty that NAC 678B.208 puts on the employer.
Is this the agent card?
No. The agent card is the cannabis establishment agent registration card, and it comes from the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB). No one may work or volunteer at a cannabis establishment without being registered with the CCB. This course's certificate is a training record. It is not an agent card, and it does not replace one. Only the CCB issues agent cards (NRS 678B.340).
Who should take it?
Cannabis establishment agents who work at Nevada cannabis sales facilities, which are adult-use cannabis retail stores and medical cannabis dispensaries: budtenders, door and front desk staff, inventory and receiving staff, delivery drivers, leads, and managers. Agents at cultivation, production, and distribution businesses can take it too. The course points out where a rule reaches them. It is not the training for staff who perform security functions or for consumption lounge employees.
How long does it take?
About four hours, self-paced. Nevada sets no training hours for store staff. The four hours are Learn Brands' own standard.
What topics does it cover?
Federal and Nevada cannabis law, the agent card, purchase limits, checking ID with a scanner and refusing a sale, keeping people under 21 out of the store, customer and patient privacy, security and seed-to-sale tracking, delivery to customers, incident reporting, emergency response, and what changed this year.
Does it cover this year's rule changes?
Yes. Module 7 walks through the changes staff are most likely to be asked about, including Nevada's hemp limit, which since July 1, 2026 counts total THC (NAC 557.011), the move of the Cannabis Compliance Board's regulations into the Nevada Administrative Code in June 2026, and the changing federal hemp definition. Rules change, and so does this course.
Does the certificate expire?
Yes. The certificate of completion is a dated record, valid for 1 year, and Learn Brands sends renewal reminders before it expires. The 1 year is Learn Brands' own standard. The certificate is a training record. It is not an agent card, and it does not replace one. Only the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) issues agent cards (NRS 678B.340).
Does it replace my store's own training?
No. Each store still trains its agents on its own security measures and emergency procedures, which Nevada's training rule names (NAC 678B.208), and on its own written procedures. The rule's list for sales facility agents also includes product knowledge: strains, methods of use, and how cannabis affects the body. This course does not teach product knowledge. Each store also gives hands-on training on its point-of-sale system, its ID scanner, and the state's seed-to-sale tracking system. This course covers the shared knowledge every agent needs.
Do you offer team pricing?
Yes. A single seat is $59. Volume pricing is $49 per seat for 10 or more seats, $39 for 25 or more, and $29 for 50 or more. Buy seats, assign them to staff, and track completion in the dashboard. Bulk discounts are available to all companies on Learn Brands.
